TToT – Ten Things of Thankful #4! Survived ANOTHER week!

Thankful-definition-1024x889

And another week has passed us by, I’m tempted to say it would probably be easier to come of with a list of ten things I am not thankful for, but that would sort of defeat the purpose of this fabulous link-up. I’m quite certain by the time I’ve finished writing about the good stuff though, the not-so-good-stuff will be shoved into some dark little corner of my mind where it will hopefully stay until it simply fades away. The power of positive thinking and all that.

Alright then, onto my happy place . . .

Xanax. I am exceedingly thankful for Xanax.

Candles in jars – My candle ban has been lifted, providing I only use the ones that come in jars.

Coffee. Because it will always be on my list of things I am thankful for.

My daughter will be here at the end of the month for her little brother’s high school graduation. I miss that precious stinker.

Anger management. I am thankful I am capable of it – especially when driving, going to the grocery store, the mall, Walmart, the post office, or my kid’s bathroom.

I am thankful I awoke this morning with less pain than the day before, thankful for the amazing clouds that drifted above me today, thankful for time – time to write, time to read, time to spend with those I cherish most. I am thankful for the random act of kindness I witnessed today and I am thankful God has blessed me with so much to be thankful for . . .things-were-thankful-for-112713-feat-630x350

  1. Going into the kids’ bathroom can seriously get my heart rate up. Almost as much as going into my daughter’s room… Anger is so daggum hard to manage sometimes!

I hope that not-so-good stuff has been shoved not into the corners but out of your brain completely after this.

Enjoy your daughter’s visit, and congrats to the graduate!

  2. I too did the flame thrower thing but didnt ignite anything. I didnt even have big hair back then… I was just a bit of a pyro. I have melted the television with the bottom of a jar candle though so beware and a jar once exploded… My friend works for Yankee Candle…. they call those curtain burners!

  3. (as a co-host), I believe it’s incumbent on me to point out that here at the TToT we don’t necessarily do things like most would think.*
Case in point, there are often weeks where the grateful/not-grateful ratio is running a little on the negative… we actually accept and recognize items of hypo-grateful. It is, in fact, considered valid, appropriate and countable (towards your 10 Items) to have things on your grat list that are not quite ” Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
    No, seriously! Ask anyone!

    * just one of a number of things about this here bloghop here that makes it the best of all ‘hops

  4. Xannax used to be my BFF too… Now its Ativan. I too dislike the phone ringing and get much relief from saying oh don’t know that number and promptly hitting ignore. And so much yes for kids being self sufficent. I am not a morning person the kid is. I can now say.. get some cereal and go watch tv and go back to sleep

  5. I’m so glad you’re in, Crystal, and that you have this list. I was worried earlier this week and I thought you were going under and I was gonna give you some time before diving in to try to rescue you, but YOU’RE BACK! YAY! Or as back as ‘back’ can be right now, which will do for me.

I like your list and I’m really glad you’re going to get to spend time with your daughter. That’s a lovely thing. I hope you enjoy all of it, and all of your long weekend, and WELL DONE 🙂

  6. I share your passion for not cooking. 🙂 I’m thankful that I have 3 days off this weekend due to the holiday … but none too thankful that it means more cooking than usual. Could certainly do without that to make it a great weekend. Love this post! You had me smiling all the way through it. Thank you!

  7. I had to click the ‘It was an accident’ link. I rarely used Aquanet in my hair but I did do the flame-thrower thing with it. Through my window screens – which were thankfully aluminum and not fiberglass. And my boys think I don’t know why my nailpolish remover always disappeared right around the same time mysterious ahem, crop circles would appear in my lawn.
