What a Wonderful World (it could be)

We CAN have one, a wonderful world. I know we can. It has to start inside of every individual, we can’t begin to make it so until we cleanse our own hearts, until we purge ourselves first of the anger, the disdain, the judgments . . .the ‘I’.

Only then can we find the wonder that surrounds us, and it does my friends, it does. We just need to open our eyes and embrace it, and each other.

Some people think it doesn’t matter if they make the effort, no one else seems to be doing it, so why should they? It DOES matter, one person, one voice, one change might be the catalyst that marks a new day for someone else, and then another and another.

Can you imagine what might happen if we all made a choice to let go of the very things that separate us? Oh, I can. I imagine it could be a very wonderful world indeed . . .

It starts with me. It starts with you.

  1. We just need to focus on the good in the world – and yes there are still good people in this world. Working together with respect and love is the way. Enjoyed your post, thank you.

  2. Oddly enough I was thinking of this song the other night. Weird/encouraging to see it here on your blog. I agree that we all have the ability to be a catalyst for good, should we choose to do so– and if other people pay attention to what we’re doing. It can all work for the best.

  3. I don’t know that collectives of people can, as a group, let go of the separators, the unconscious bias, the judgments, and so on. It has to be one by one, building relationships with the “others” and the strangers, and rejecting the calls for hate and exclusion, overcoming the fear.

    • Exactly. We need to move away fro the movements, the protests . . . We need to start by examining our our thoughts, feeling, and ideals honestly and making changes within our selves first. It’s amazing the kind of clarity one can find when they aren’t surrounded by a thousand other voices. Thank you.

  4. I have a dream…a dream of what could be if we could all just be good people and accept each other, love each other as we are, and help each other instead of hating those who are different from us, whether in appearance or belief.
