begets

strength.

Paradoxical madness

I could do without.

Interminable battle,

victory unattainable.

Eternal conflict rages

betwixt prostration

and fortitude.

Languor triumphs,

vitiating valor,

though – conquest

is fleeting

as perseverance

reclaims reign.

And the struggle

makes me strong.
